Iranian shorts to go to Serbian festival

The 4th edition of the International Short Film Festival of Short Form in Serbia has scheduled to screen eight Iranian titles in various competition sections.

‘Soccer Shoes’ directed by Saeed Arabtaheri, ‘1–0’ directed by Saman Hosseinpour, ‘Full Color’ directed by Ario Saffarzadegan, and ‘Kite’ directed by Iradj Afkar will compete with 25 other titles in Micro Film section.

The Mini Film section is to screen ‘Mother’s Embrace’ directed by Sina Ayoubi, ‘Class’ directed by Reza Golchin, and ‘Refugee Camp’ directed by Saeed Naghavian, all from Iran.

The animated work ‘Light Sight’ produced by Simin Farrokh-Ahmadi is Iran’s only representative in the Short Film (Kratka Forma) section.

Iranian director Seyyed-Moslem Tabatabaee’s animation has received the Best International Student Film award from the 1st Sunrise 45 Film Festival in the US town of Alpena in northeastern Michigan in August.

It also brought home second prize as well as another award from the international short film section of the 1st International Luci Della Ribalta Film Fest located in the Italian city of Terni in August.

‘Light Sight’ is the story of a creature named M.E. who is enamored by a white light outside of its room.

The Serbian event, a leading short film festival in the European region, has served as an influential platform for European film makers and talent at an international level, by spearheading the cinema movement for short films in the European region.

The 4th edition of the International Short Film Festival – SHORT FORM – is slated for September 26-October 1, 2017, in Gornji Milanovac, Serbia.
